The Jewish Community Foundation of the West was founded in 2000. The Foundation provides the Jewish communities of Northern California and neighboring States with philanthropic services and the opportunity to create long-term financial stability for their designated Jewish and non-Jewish charities. The funds are managed by professional investment advisors with oversight from the JCFW Investment Committee and the JCFW Board of Directors to ensure that funds are maintained according to specific investment management strategies and policies. Currently, more than 270 funds are under management that support a wide range of initiatives, programs, and services to meet the long-term financial needs of our community for many generations to come.
Currently, the JCFW has $21 million in funds under management. The JCFW has a board of directors comprised of community leaders representing most of our region's synagogues and Jewish organizations. They have expertise in the law, accounting, and running Jewish organizations, and they share your desire to repair the world.
When you open a fund at the JCFW we promise to remain your philanthropic partner, and maintain the highest standard of care, professionalism, and privacy. At the JCFW we continue to monitor our partners in the community foundation world to ensure we meet or exceed performance on the funds under management with the lowest possible fees.
