Working With Us

The Jewish Community Foundation of the West was created in 2000. The Foundation provides the Jewish communities of Northern California and Western Nevada with philanthropic services and the opportunity to create long-term financial stability for their designated Jewish and non-Jewish charities. The Foundation works with individuals, families and organizations to create endowment and donor advised philanthropic funds to best meet their charitable objectives.

All funds are managed by professional investment advisors with oversight from the JCFW Investment Committee and the JCFW Board of Directors to ensure that funds are maintained according to specific investment management strategies and policies. The investment policy is available upon request. We currently manage more than 200 funds that support a wide range of programs and services to meet the long-term financial needs of our community for many generations to come.

We are part of YOUR community and care about what you care about. You know us and we know you and we share your values. Currently, the JCFW has nearly $10 million in funds under management. The JCFW has a board of directors comprised of community leaders representing most of the synagogues and Jewish organizations in our region. They have expertise in the law, accounting, and running Jewish organizations, and they share your desire to repair the world.

When you open a fund at the JCFW we promise to remain your philanthropic partner.  We promise to maintain the highest standard of care, professionalism and privacy. At the JCFW we continue to monitor our partners in the community foundation world to assure we meet or exceed performance on the funds under management with the lowest possible fees.
