Teen Trips to Israel Endowment Fund Offers Matching Grants

One of the most important Jewish experiences a teen can have is to visit Israel with a group of peers. After seeing the impact that such a trip had on their own children, Sharon and Larry Saltzman wanted to make sure that every teen had the chance to go. By working with the Jewish Community Foundation of the West, they established the Teen
Trips to Israel Fund. Every year, this fund contributes money to the Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region to distribute as scholarship money for trips to Israel. Over the past 2 years alone, 53 teens went on these trips. At this time, the teens receive an average of $400 per teen from the Federation with the fund's help.

But Sharon and Larry don't yet feel that their mission is complete.  As the cost of these trips rise and more and more teens need financial assistance, the Saltzmans have set a new goal to ensure the fund can continue to provide meaningful scholarships.  From now until the end of the year, Sharon and Larry have agreed to match any contributions to the Israel fund up to a total of $5000.  With this kind of generosity, donors to the fund can count every dollar they contribute as two.

Please spread the word to your friends, congregation, and community about this important offer.

Donations can be made by check to the Jewish Community Foundation of the West, noting the Teen Trips to Israel Fund in the memo line.
